Implementing national medical principles, policies, regulations and technical standards; Formulating and enforcing the integrated plan, strategic objectives for the development of the health sector in Zhejiang Province; Developing plans for the prevention of major diseases and drafting regulations & technical standards relevant to medicine and health; Supervising medical organizations, public health, labor health, food industry in Zhejiang Province, and the use of medical equipment, biological products and medical biomaterials based on national health laws, regulations and standards; Authorizing the qualification of health professionals and license of medical organizations; Planning the major medical research, medical education, personnel training and health industry development; Providing professional guidance for the medical treatment, nursing, rehabilitation and healthcare relevant to TCM and integrated Chinese medicine & western medicines; Drafting plans for the development of maternal and child healthcare and perinatal healthcare; Overseeing the quality of birth control services in cooperation with relevant departments; Promoting exchange and cooperation of medical sciences and technology with other countries and international non-governmental organizations according to the foreign affairs principles and policies of central government; Establishing and perfecting the health statistics system and information system.
